Civil law, Seeking Legal Assistance to Collect on Contracted Debt

Nickolaus (Edmonton)

I am seeking advice and possible legal support regarding a client who owes me payment for completed work. The situation is as follows:
• The client has made partial payments and, as recently as December, sent photos of cheques indicating their intent to pay the remaining balance. Since then, they have stopped communicating.
• We have signed agreements including a vehicle collateral contract in July and August 2025, and a temporary title transfer agreement. Both agreements had a witness present.

I would like to move forward with collecting the remaining amount owed under these agreements but am unsure of the appropriate next steps. I can provide all supporting documentation, communications, and contract details as needed.

Could you advise on my options for enforcing the contract and collecting the debt?
